CMMC Assessments Now Supported in the Apptega Assessment Manager

Templated Questionnaire-Based Assessments Reduce Time and Effort by +50%

ATLANTA, GA — December 14, 2020 Apptega, the leading innovator of software solutions for simplifying cybersecurity and compliance, has added Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) assessments in the Apptega Assessment Manager. The Assessment Manager is used to quickly and easily identify gaps, evaluate compliance and audit readiness, and produce a variety of status reports. Assessment results can be used stand-alone or transferred into a cybersecurity program in Apptega for ongoing remediation and reporting.

“The new CMMC requirements from the U.S. Department of Defense are designed to protect sensitive data in the Defense Industrial Base (DIB),” said Armistead Whitney, CEO of Apptega. “This mandate is also creating significant new proof-of-compliance burdens for all DoD contractors and subcontractors. CMMC Assessments in Apptega help these organizations, and consultants providing assistance, quickly and efficiently evaluate cybersecurity posture, identify critical gaps, and produce the reports needed in the CMMC certification process. Feedback has been extremely positive, both from CMMC consultants conducting readiness assessments on a mass scale, as well as individual DoD Contractors and Subs.”

Key capabilities of the Apptega Assessment Manager include:

  • Fast-Track Assessments
Utilize predefined templates to quickly set up and deploy assessments for each cybersecurity and privacy framework. Divide assessment topics among subject matter experts enabling simultaneous completion of the aggregate assessment.
  • Tailor for a Perfect Fit
Easily customize templates including questions, answers, and scoring to match specific needs.
  • Improve Visibility and Reporting
Instantly produce reports in the format needed by executives and other stakeholders. For CMMC these include the Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M) and System Security Plan (SSP) reports.
  • Kickstart Your Program
Instantly transfer the results of assessments into full cybersecurity compliance programs in Apptega for a head start on remediation and audit preparation.

CMMC assessment templates are the latest addition to the Apptega Assessment Manager which also includes audit readiness and compliance assessment templates for cybersecurity and privacy frameworks such as SOC 2, PCI DSS, ISO 27001, NIST 800-171, NIST 800-53, NIST CSF, GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, and more. In addition to this library of predefined assessment templates, the Apptega Assessment Manager also supports the rapid creation of custom assessments, starting with a template or starting from a clean slate.

“The Apptega Assessment Manager significantly streamlines CMMC assessments and helps us promote collaboration with our clients,” said Thad Wellin, Corporate CMMC Lead for SecureStrux. “We evaluated numerous tools and found the Apptega cybersecurity and compliance management platform to be the most robust and easy to use.”
