"Called “Harmony”, organizations can now combine and manage multiple cybersecurity frameworks as one program inside the Apptega platform"
ATLANTA, (March 31st, 2019) – Apptega, the global cybersecurity management software company, announced today the release of Harmony, a widely anticipated core enhancement that simplifies the way organizations manage multiple cybersecurity frameworks and compliance requirements.
Many companies are trying to follow multiple cybersecurity programs at once such as SOC 2, PCI, HIPAA, CCPA and GDPR as separate, siloed programs. Harmony instantly maps common requirements between all major frameworks into one program. For example, a healthcare company that takes credit cards must implement over 300 separate cybersecurity requirements for HIPAA and PCI compliance, even though there are common requirements and substantial overlap between the frameworks.
“Harmony replaces the hundreds of Excel spreadsheets organizations typically use to manually map multiple security programs,” said Armistead Whitney, CEO of Apptega. “With Harmony, IT teams can instantly merge any combination of frameworks into one program, saving thousands of hours of time while significantly improving visibility and control. When it comes to efficiencies in managing cybersecurity, every CIO will tell you this is the holy grail.”
In addition to mapping multiple cybersecurity frameworks, Harmony enables users to “uncouple” combined frameworks for independent reporting and audits. For example, a SaaS company implementing both SOC 2 and PCI can easily un-map the SOC 2 framework for a stand-alone annual audit while giving special access of the data to an external auditor.
“We’re excited to see the launch of Harmony to reduce costs, improve efficiency, and increase quality by streamlining cybersecurity across multiple frameworks,” said Todd Jennings, Chief Technology Officer of Clearview Group. “Harmony drives effective regulatory compliance while helping to improve an organization’s competitiveness and cybersecurity risk posture.”
Harmony was released live in the Apptega platform on March 31st, 2019. The company also announced it will be releasing additional enhancements over the next 90 days including a California Data Privacy Act framework, intelligent permissioning, and automated scoring tools.
